An all volunteer organization, Libraries of Love has created libraries in 36 schools in Uganda. We are excited and proud to say that 94,000 students have had access to books in our libraries since the first Library of Love was created at Namirembe Primary School in Kampala in 2005.
Schoolgirls in Maasai land
UPDATE: Books Arrive. 2 of 7 libraries created.
(7/15/17) After several delays from the expected arrival date, the book shipment arrived in Maasai land; books were distributed to all 7 libraries, and the first two libraries were completed.
THE NEWS: In 2017, we will provide 7 libraries in Maasai land in Kenya, each very remote. There are paths and cow pastures weaving through Maasai land, but not regular roads. However, the trucking company says they can deliver! We will provide 4 primary libraries and 3 secondary. Please keep checking our website and on Libraries of Love’s Facebook page for the latest updates. Stepping out of the box is not always easy, but it has great rewards. Uganda will continue to be our focus, but how exciting to also provide for Maasai young people.
